Jose Perini

This site is created for my family to keep updated with my fathers health! On April 7th we got the news that my dad was diagnosed with lymphoma. Because we are a large family and all computer geeks I came up with this Idea so we can keep up to date! Please feel free to post your thoughts and ideas we all need to communicate!
Here is a link to a site with lymphoma information

Paulo thanks for the picture

Hi it is Sunday Easter Sunday, when I spoke to Viv this morning we are all awaiting diagnosis from doctors Monday morning. Dad at this point has had 2 biopsies cat scans from head to groin as far was we can tell everything is clear. Dad is on steroids that seem to be making him a bit incoherent but we are relived to know that his head scan showed no abnormality. The upside is that he has recently "seen the queen mother" on the Qe2 LOL <3 V

Dad seems to think he saw the Qe2 a cruise ship and saw the queen mother to boot. It appears a side affect of the steroids. Apparently this is what he told Mom and Viv yesterday I thought it quite amusing! Thanks for the scans it was very informative. I think this is a good way for us to keep information flowing. <3 is a sideways heart. v is my intial
LOL means laugh out loud.
Love V

Apparently dad has a rare autoimmune disease they don't know what it is. Vivian spoke to the doctor’s this morning and they are still doing test. The steroids dad is taking seem to be helping the swelling go down. He may be discharged to day from Halifax hospital. http://www.hfch.org/ This seems to be very good new as the doctors think this is very treatable. Keep your fingers crossed <3

Subject: Dad update

Dad was released from the hospital today at 11am.

His Oncologist, Dr. Abdul Sorathia said that they are not sure exactly
what is wrong with dad, but that his immune system was under a
tremendous amount of stress. He noted that what ever dad had it seemed
to be responding well to treatments using a steroid called pretezone
which has reduced the swelling of his lymph nodes and made his rashes go
away. He has also stopped itching.
Even better Dad is eating and seems to have a good appetite.

Dr. Sorathia had to send dad's biopsies and blood work to California to
a lymphoma specialist because they cannot determine yet what is the
exact problem. Dad has an appoitment on Thursday with Dr. Sorathia and
hopefully by then we will know what the diagnosis is.

Also an infectious disease doctor said all bacteria culltures have been
negative, and so dad is not taking any more antibiotics.

So in the end we still do not know what is wrong with Dad, but at least
he is at home now and his spirits are much better.
