Memorial Day - Mom's Hospital Visit
Dad seems to be the same, with some slight improvement in the lungs. Dr Arcot, the intesivist, is recommending we do a tracheostomy. He seemed very positive. His lungs have improved enough to where they think he would benefit.
Since the tracheostomy is temporary, the tube will eventually be removed. Healing will occur quickly, leaving a minimal scar.
His vitals are otherwise normal and the fever is completly gone today.
After Dr. Arcot left the nurse came by to mom and gave the vitals:
White Blood Count 12.6 - down
ATGB - 11.1 / 32.8
Blood Sugar is high @ 100 expected with the fluids
Neurological - wheening sedation and may take some 48 hrs -72 hrs to come.
Pulomonary - slight improvement they will be making some adjustments including tracheostomy.
Blood gases are in normal limits based on sedation levels
Tube feedings will increase , doing well w/them
