Call to the Hospital

I spoke with Jennifer today who was not the most talkative type. His status is about the same as yesterday. The chest X-ray was still showing pnemonia.

He is still breathing over the ventilator by 2 breathes, the Ventilator is back to 55% and he is stable on that.

They have stopped all sedative medications to bring him out of the sedation. I think some whiffs of Hershey's Chocolate with almonds or a Manhatten might bring him right out. ;-)

His kidney's continue to improve in small amounts.

He did get his urine culture back and his latest infection is Vancomycin-resistant enterococci (VRE). Not sure about the spelling. He is taking Chlrythromyacine for it. This is not a good baterial infection it is very resistant to treatment.

Mom was getting in shortly and will call me.

When mom came in, she met with Dr. Arcot and he told her Dad was set for the tracheostomy. Possibly tomorrow. This requires surgery and since dad is Crtically Stable (oxymoron or what) he would be fine to do the procedure. He said we are not at any decision points at this time.

The pulmonary Dr said things looked fine to day and no changes at this time. Mom was waiting to see Dr. Sorathia the last time we talked.
